
CAPT Paul A. Gobourne, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (BC-FNP), recently retired from the United States Public Health Service after 22 years of distinguished service. He currently serves at the George Washington University Hospital Wound Care and Limb Salvage Center in Washington, DC, providing specialized care for patients with complex wounds resulting from injury and illness.
In addition to his clinical work, CAPT Gobourne is the founder of 20 Summers, LLC, a health care systems improvement company that provides innovative solutions to government agencies and their customers. His goal is to continue to provide service to his family, friends, community, and country.
CAPT Gobourne holds both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Howard University, where he laid the foundation for his impactful career. Previously, he served as Officer in Charge at the Warrior Clinic, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, supporting wounded, ill, and injured service members and their families during the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.
A Fellow of the Duke-Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership Program and a past President of the Washington, DC Nurse Practitioner Association, CAPT Gobourne is recognized for his leadership and dedication to patient care.
A Brooklyn, New York native, he now resides in Washington, D.C., with his wife, their young adult children, and two dogs. In his leisure time, he enjoys a fine cigar paired with quality sipping tequila.
